To live well and healthy physically we need to eat well, a balanced diet that fulfills all our dietary needs.  To live well and healthy spiritually we also need to eat well, and in this the Lord Jesus has given us his Body and Blood to nourish us and fulfill our spiritual needs.  His flesh is real food, and his blood real drink. For so many of us, it is easy to take for granted anything that we do repeatedly, becoming a routine.  We can easily lose our sense of awe and wonder that Jesus is giving us his very self to nourish us on our journey.  That moment when we say “Amen” and receive the Body and Blood of Jesus is the most intimate and important encounter with Christ that week.  Jesus actually becomes a part of our being, and we are nourished and fed by the grace from the gift of the Eucharist.  Let us turn to the Lord in our need and be fed at his table.
