Our First Reading today is one through which God asks us through Isaiah “Whom will I send and who will go for Us?” Answer “here am I; send me to rebuild your Church.” The Second Reading is all about proclamation – strongly state to God (and others) that you will proclaim the Gospel.  In the Gospel Itself, hear Jesus say to you, “(Name,) do not be afraid; from now on you will catch people (to rebuild my Church).”

The world today is tired of just hearing our words: they say strongly to us, “Enough words! Now do something (to clean up this mess).” Pope Francis this month (February 21 -24) holds a meeting on sexual abuse in Rome and asks us to keep our expectations real. Pray, pray hard, for its success.  Do penance which you can give to God to bless this meeting.  Offer all your good acts to the Risen One for this gathering’s success. And gently answer all people’s questions about sex abuse in the Church – and speak frankly about this to others when opportunities present themselves. And remain HOPE-FULL!

Risen Lord, resurrect your battered Church to new life.  Amen! Amen!
