Jesus gives a hard teaching in today’s Gospel in the form of a parable. Although God is like a king who invites everyone to attend a great wedding feast, there are those who refuse the invitation outright, those who kill the messengers bearing this invitation, and those who respond to the invitation but who do not adequately prepare.
Jesus calls us, like the messengers of the king, to spread God’s invitation far and wide–but he also calls us to respond to all the ways God is inviting us, and to prepare ourselves. How is God inviting you to respond to his invitation?
