Apostles of the Resurrection Promise Ceremony

On Saturday July 22, 2023, the Feast of Saint Mary Magdalene, the Apostles of the Resurrection gathered with professed Resurrectionists in St. Eugene’s Chapel at Resurrection College. The day was one of joy and hope, as it was the first time the Apostles were able to gather in person to renew their Promises since COVID began. Each year the Apostles (lay persons associated with the Congregation of the Resurrection) promise to live their daily lives according to the spirituality, charism and mission of the Congregation of the Resurrection.  They profess these promises on the Feast of their Patroness, Saint Mary Magdalene, and draw from her their inspiration to go out and tell the world “I have seen the Lord.”

Fr. Tim Uniac, CR presided at this year’s Mass and accepted the Apostles Promises.  During Mass he led the congregation in a shared homily.  Fr. Tim brought three images of Saint Mary Magdalene, he shared what struck him most about each image, and invited all present to also share how the images spoke to them.  It was a time of spiritual connection between the Apostles of the Resurrection and the professed members of the Congregation, one that reminded all present of our vows and promises to work together for the renewal of society and the resurrection of all we meet.  Following the Mass everyone enjoyed a BBQ lunch and fellowship.
