A Resurrectionist Vocation Minute for January 12, Baptism of the Lord
Can You Hear the Voice of God the Father?
In today’s Gospel, the heavens open, and the Father proclaims Jesus as His beloved Son.
The Father’s words also form the foundation of our vocation. If you’re discerning religious life or priesthood, remember that your identity is rooted in the Father’s unconditional love.
Recognizing that you are also His beloved gives you the strength to trust the steps ahead. How might this understanding help you say ‘yes’ to God’s plan for your life?
“Although God's love for us is the basis of an authentic Christian spirituality, it is not a truth we easily arrive at and personally experience. Thus, in the very first Article, our Constitutions refer to God's love as "the most fundamental fact of our lives," and then continues to explain how a life-long process is required in order to understand and experience it with our mind, will, heart and emotions. The possibility exists for our experience of God's love to surpass our experience of all other loves extended to us. This is true because that is the nature of God's love for us”
