September 14 we celebrate Our Lady of Sorrows,
patron saint of St. Mary’s Parish in Kitchener, one of the Resurrectionist Parishes.
St. Mary’s Parish is located in downtown Kitchener, and serves the community as both a centre for Catholic faith, as well as an open door to those in need.
The Blessed Virgin Mary, our Sorrowful Mother, was sorrowful because she had great love for her Son. As the patron saint of St. Mary’s Parish, she teaches the faith community to have sorrow for all those who are suffering. This sorrow is based in love and compassion for all God’s children.
The people of St. Mary’s Parish embody this love and sorrow for the suffering through the care they offer in their many outreach programs, and through the welcome the extend to all who join their community.
St. Mary’s Parish is also one of the six Pilgrim Churches in the Diocese of Hamilton for the 2025 Jubilee Year: Pilgrims of Hope. They welcome visitors to participate in the 2025 Jubilee as we journey together to become Pilgrims of Hope. St. Mary’s Church is open for special pilgrimage hours during the Jubilee Year. These hours will be Tuesday’s from 1:00 – 3:00 pm and Thursday’s from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm.
You are welcome to attend the Feast Day Mass at St. Mary’s this evening:
