This year the Season of Creation encourages parishes and faith groups to engage with the Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty (FFNPT). The Treaty brings together nations, civil society, and faith groups to reduce fossil fuel use. According to their website, “The Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty Initiative is a global effort to foster international cooperation to accelerate a transition to renewable energy for everyone, end the expansion of coal, oil, and gas, and equitably phase out existing production in keeping with what science shows is needed to address the climate crisis.”

You can learn more on the FFNPT website by clicking here.
You can also watch a Webinar on the FFNPT tomorrow, Tuesday, September 10 at 9am on youtube (click on video to the right).  This webinar aims to amplify the unique voices of faith actors and governments to encourage the global ecumenical community to endorse the Faith Letter calling for the FFNPT and to take further action.
The Faith Letter is a call to action for the governments of the world, a call to sign a Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty.  You can learn more and sign the letter yourself by clicking the button below.
