In today’s Gospel, one word has always stood out for me: immediately. When Jesus calls Simon and Andrew, James and John, they leave their nets, their boat, even their father, and follow Him at once.
Vocation does not begin with perfect clarity or detailed plans, but with a heart shaped by the Word and ready to trust. On this Sunday of the Word of God, we are reminded that the Lord still walks into our ordinary lives, speaks a simple invitation, and waits for a response marked by attentiveness, courage, and readiness.
May we learn to hear His voice and respond without delay.
