On this National Indigenous Peoples Day, and every day, we acknowledge, with respect, that Resurrection College and Resurrection Manor reside and operate on the traditional territory of the Attawandaron, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our facility is located on the Haldimand Tract, the land Frederick Haldimand granted to the Haudenosaunee of the Six Nations of the Grand River in 1784 that includes 10 kilometers on both sides of the Grand River and extends from its source to Lake Erie. We give thanks for the privilege to work and live on this land. and we are committed to building respectful relationships with Indigenous People and communities, to enhance our knowledge, and learn how we can have an active role in reconciliation.
We are grateful for the services that organizations like the Anishnabeg Outreach Centre, Healing of the Seven Generations and White Owl Native Ancestry Association provide for Native, Inuit and Metis people living in our region, and for their willingness to help educate and work with non-Indigenous organizations, to build lasting relationships for the benefit of everyone.
Check out these organizations to see how you can learn, get involved, and support reconciliation within our local community.
