November 21 is the Feast of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary. This day commemorates when Mary’s parents, St. Anne and St. Joachim, presented Mary in the Temple, to fulfill a promise made to God before St. Anne became pregnant.
In 2016 Fr. Joseph de Viveiros, CR led a group from Kitchener-Waterloo and area on pilgrimage in the Holy Land. One of their stops was at the Church of St. Anne and St. Joachim. The White Fathers who administer the church invited one of the pilgrims, Alice, an Apostle of the Resurrection, to sing Ave Maria in the church.
On this Feast Day we invite you to listen to that hymn, and view the pictures taken by the pilgrims of the Church of St. Anne & St. Joachim, their statue of St. Anne and St. Mary and the fresco in the grotto below the church. May this be a moment of reflection and peace on this busy day.
