On Saturday, February 21, the Canadian Province of the Congregation of the Resurrection gathered to elect their next Provincial Superior.
Fr. Tim Uniac, CR is completing his second term as Provincial Superior, serving in this role for the past six years. The job is complicated, and sometimes challenging, but Fr. Tim has embraced this role with enthusiasm and care for his fellow Resurrectionists, and for the Congregation as a whole. We would like to thank Fr. Tim for his dedication, and for encouraging all members of the Canadian Province, both the professed Brothers and Priests, as well as the lay Apostles of the Resurrection, to live as people of hope, looking forward to a future shaped by the transforming power of God’s love. Fr. Tim Uniac continues as Provincial Superior until the end of June 2026.
At the election, the professed members of the Canadian Province, trusting in the guidance of the Holy Spirit, elected Fr. Toby Collins, CR as their next Provincial Superior!
Fr. Toby professed first vows in 2002 and was ordained to the priesthood in 2007. He has served as a Deacon in Bermuda, Associate Pastor in Hamilton, Ontario, Vocation Director in Waterloo, Spiritual Animator for the Waterloo Catholic District School Board, and is presently serving as Pastor at St. Mary’s Parish in Kitchener. Fr. Toby has a passion for his vocation which permeates every project he takes on. He has been especially active recently in Waterloo Region through the many outreach programs he has initiated, including Tiny Home Takeout and A Better Tent City. We look forward to seeing how Fr. Toby brings his energy and deep faith in the power of the Resurrection to his new ministry as Provincial Superior, which starts on July 1, 2026.
May our Risen Lord continue to guide the Congregation of the Resurrection to a future filled with hope.
