Resurrection Gala 2025
- May 1, 2025
On May 1, 2025 members of the Congregation of the Resurrection, Apostles of the Resurrection and Friends and Family of the Congregation gathered to celebrate the second annual Resurrection Gala! We celebrate the Charism and Mission of the Congregation of the Resurrection. We thank God for calling our Founders to this Charism and Mission, and we pray that, together, the Resurrectionists and everyone who supports them, will be blessed with the graces to continue working for the resurrection of society.
We were blessed this year to be joined by our guest speaker Bishop Wesley Spiewak, CR, Bishop of the Hamilton Diocese in Bermuda.
Bishop Spiewak spoke about embracing our brokenness as human beings, because where we are weak, where we need help, that is where God acts in our lives. Often we rely on our own abilities and don’t think to ask God to be with us in our daily lives. But when we crack, like pottery can crack, then we are unable to continue on without help.
Bishop Spiewak compared this to the Japanese art of Kintsugi, of filling the cracks in pottery with gold, not only to repair the piece, but also to accentuate and celebrate the cracks. As humans, our cracks tell the story of our past, of what makes us who we are. We should celebrate those cracks, where we needed God and where He acted in our lives.
