Solidarity Sunday – April 6, 2025

This fifth Sunday of Lent is “Solidarity Sunday,” a day chosen by the bishops of Canada to nourish the mission of Development and Peace — Caritas Canada, the official international development organization of the Catholic Church in Canada.

This year, Development and Peace — Caritas Canada joins the global campaign led by Caritas Internationalis, KAIROS and many others to Turn Debt into Hope, so that our sisters and brothers in the Global South can live in dignity, free from the burden of unjust debt. 

Donating to the Share Lent Campaign this Solidarity Sunday helps empower communities in the Global South with social, economic and ecological resilience. Fairer, stronger and greener communities make countries less vulnerable to indebtedness.
