The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Resurrectionist Constitutions:

God has honored Mary by choosing Her to be the Mother of our Savior. She is also the Mother of the Church, which is His body. In our tradition, we have claimed Her as the Mother of our Congregation and have been dedicated to promoting Her honor. She is the model of what salvation is for each of us.
In Her Immaculate Conception, She was freed from sin.
As the Mother of Sorrows, She shared in the sufferings of Her Son.
In Her Assumption, She was raised up to share in the risen life of Jesus.
If we follow Her as our model, we learn to share in the passion, death and resurrection of Her Son and we too will be freed from sin and will share in His new life in the Spirit.

A Prayer for the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Risen Lord, thank you for giving Mary to us as our Mother,
as our model of salvation.

Help us to always emulate the Blessed Virgin in our daily lives.
May Mary’s example show us how to turn away from sin,
and to share in the suffering you endured by dying to ourselves,
so that we may one day also be raised up to eternal life.

And may we continue to share the Good News of Salvation
to all whom we meet.
Risen Lord, we pray in your name,
Amen.

Blessed Virgin Mary, assumed into heaven, Pray for Us.
