The tax collector went home justified not because of what he did, but because of how he approached God. Humility is the foundation of authentic Christian life and the beginning of any genuine vocation. It means recognizing that everything we have is a gift, that our worthiness comes from God’s love alone, and that we have nothing to boast about apart from His mercy.
