Where Are You Placing the Lamp God Has Given You?
A lamp is lit to be placed on a stand, not hidden under a bushel basket. Often, the early signs of a vocation to religious life feel fragile, and we are tempted to hide them out of fear of what others might think. But if God has lit the flame of this vocation in your heart, He intends it to shine. Are you willing to let that call be seen?
“The vows are a visible sign to the people of God. They point to the possibility of living according to the counsels of Jesus. They are a prophetic witness of the primacy of God and higher values: the supernatural and the eternal as with the natural and temporal. Our faithfulness in living the vows will serve as an inspiration to all, encouraging them to live their own Christian vocation more fully”.
