Why are you still standing there?
Several times, the landowner finds people still standing in the marketplace. The Gospel does not tell us that they are unwilling to work; they simply have not yet entered the vineyard.
Discernment can also become a place of waiting. We wait for certainty. We wait for the perfect moment. We wait, perhaps, for a sign that removes our doubts. Christ’s invitation, “You too go into my vineyard,” asks us not only to reflect on our vocation, but also to act.
Is there something you already know God is asking of you, but you are still waiting instead of going?
“Our entire life and work in the Congregation is to give glory to God, because He is infinite goodness and love. In gratitude for His love and goodness to us, we desire to respond to God’s invitation by our life and vocation, offering Him love for love. We, for our part, love because He first loved us (1 John 4:19).”
