A Resurrectionist Vocation Minute for April 26, 4th Sunday of Easter
Each year, on the 4th Sunday of Easter, we celebrate Good Shepherd Sunday. We rejoice this day over the amazing care that Jesus extends to us – as shepherds care for their sheep, so he watches over us his flock. The gospel reminds us further how Christ shepherds us along the paths of our lives. Forward.
Along with commemorating Christ’s role as our shepherd, we celebrate and pray for shepherds in the Church. Accordingly, the Church joins together this Sunday to pray in a special way for priests and vocations to the priesthood.
You may notice in your parish special announcements and see posters displaying faces of young men who are accepting the Lord’s invitation to discern a call to the priesthood in the Congregation of the Resurrection. Consider praying for them. Also, consider your own calling. Might the Lord be inviting you or someone you know to be a priest, to shepherd Christ’s flock, to share in the care of Christ the Good shepherd?
This Easter Season, and especially for Good Shepherd Sunday, let us introduce you to some of our youngest Resurrectionist priests and seminarians, in Brazil, Tanzania, the United States and Canada! Hallelujah and Easter Blessings!
The Congregation of the Resurrection announces and gives witness to the Paschal Mystery. Convinced of God’s unconditional love for us, we herald the liberation and salvation of each person and society as a passage from death to life in which every situation of evil and injustice will be overcome.
