Our preparations for Easter began early in Lent with our twice-a-week choir practice. This year, among other hymns, the seminarians were practicing Handell’s “Alleluia Chorus.” They were divided into different groups to practice the various parts.
Chapel decorations take much work and creativity. Here, Peter is sorting out some of the fabric that we will use for the backdrop of the sanctuary.
Selestine is getting tangled up, but he will soon free himself!
Here, you can see the progress that was made very quickly by the expertise of Peter, Selestine, Denis, Lameck, and George.
Another crew was working on the flowers and plants that we would use in the chapel, and still another crew on the sound system for the celebration afterwards.
The postulants also took time to decorate the outside of their building: “Risen Christ: Welcome into Our Home!”
The completed work was amazing. Joseph Chacha was the acolyte at Eucharist.
The seminarians and postulants sang the “Alleluia Chorus!” It was great!
And the postulants—Diof, Saulo and Gervas—were ready to welcome the Risen Christ into Our home!
Meanwhile, our cooks were hard at work preparing the meal for our celebration.
Of course we had cake…but no ice cream…too many things going on for that!
One of the funny highlights was me dressing up Sylvestian to look like a rapper-DJ! He was a good sport and took it all in stride!
