Lent is a Gift

It’s easy for us to think of Lent as something we do “for” God, or as something we “have” to do as Catholic Christians.  And one of the reasons is that we think in principle, we are supposed to do everything by ourselves – including our Lenten observances, whatever they may happen to be this year.

Is your longing stronger than fear?

The Logic of Charisms

A charism – the Pope says – is not given by the Holy Spirit to be preserved like a bottle of distilled water – but to be opened and allowed to go out, to bring life, growth, renewal, and transformation.

Do you confess your faith out of love or out of fear?

It is possible to possess extensive knowledge, yet only through love can our faith touch others’ hearts. You may feel inadequate, unqualified, or even “unclean” to answer God’s call. Remember, it’s not about knowing but about loving; love is the key.

The Family we are Given
