We are short of rooms; in fact, right now we have only one room with one bed in it for guests. So, we wanted to try to remedy this in some way. There is a “library” that had our copier and two bookcases that were stuffed with old notes and papers. We decided to empty the room and turn it into a kind of “emergency guest room.”
Adrian, Sylvestian and Alexander worked on cleaning the windows and the outside of the room.
Anord worked at cleaning the inside…and it really needed cleaning! He did a great job working in a messy area.
After cleaning the room, we hired Johnson, who has painted for us before. He painted the room, and it is looking new as ever now.
We still need to get a bunk bed and a closet cabinet, but when we do this, we will be able to have two more guests without any problem.
We were not leaving anything unwashed…including our dogs Simba, Rex, and their small puppy. Here, Simba is waiting her turn for a bath.
Gervas getting ready to wash Simba.
Next up for the dog washing was Rex. He is really a beautiful dog with a great disposition.
Finally, it was the puppy’s turn. I am not sure if he enjoyed his bath or endured it, but he survived. Audax did a great job with the puppy.

Our first reading provides us with a perspective of what might be a particular way to prepare to meet Christ with “righteous deeds.”…

Will You Trust God’s Voice Like Noah Did?
Noah entered the ark because he trusted God. Others ignored God’s voice. At the beginning of Advent, the Church invites the same trust.
